The way how Zach and Gibson ended up living in the area described (Zach’s accident, Gibson’s brother going wolf) felt like an aside. Mostly I took a guess on details that might appear trivia but driving me nuts for not knowing like what Gibson did for a living – then got confirmation on the following chapters. There seemed to be vague tones in the plot. While the novella is told in dual POVs alternately, which supposed to allow readers insight into the MCs, personally I felt as if I missed something along the way while reading this. Perking up the story were a pair of old lesbian couple, a LEO with a grudge, and a history of what an asshole family both characters came from. Boy met boy with the help of impetuous sibling followed by boy fell for boy and built the start of HEA together. In fact, it’s a fairly straightforward story.
